Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information BotBard collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to provide the Service and to be clear about how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide the Service:
- Account information — the email address you use to sign in and identify your account.
- Authentication information — one-time sign-in codes and session identifiers used to keep you securely signed in. Sign-in codes and access tokens are stored in a hashed form, not as plain text.
- Website connection information — the credential (installation token) that links a connected WordPress site to your account, and the website address (URL) of that site.
- WordPress and site information — relevant content and configuration from your connected site that is needed to understand and apply the change you request.
- AI prompts — the natural-language instructions you submit, together with the relevant site content needed to carry them out.
- Usage information — the amount of AI usage consumed, which plan you are on, and related account activity used for billing and limits.
- Technical logs — standard server logs such as IP address, request time, and basic request metadata, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment information — when you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by our third-party payment provider.
2. Payment Information
Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider. BotBard does not receive or store your full payment card number. We may store limited billing-related identifiers (such as a customer or subscription reference and plan status) provided by the payment processor so we can manage your subscription.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, provide, and maintain the Service, including connecting your site and applying requested changes.
- Perform AI processing needed to generate the website changes you request.
- Secure the Service, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Understand and improve how the Service is used (basic analytics).
- Process payments, manage subscriptions, and enforce usage limits.
- Meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
4. AI Processing
To carry out your instructions, your prompts and the relevant content from your connected website are processed by AI, which may include third-party AI providers acting on our behalf. This processing is used to generate the requested changes and is limited to what is needed to provide the Service.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our servers and database.
- Email delivery providers used to send sign-in codes and account emails.
- Payment providers used to process subscriptions and payments.
- AI providers used to generate the requested website changes.
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information for longer where required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations, or to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
The website uses essential browser local storage to keep you signed in to your dashboard. We do not currently use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy.
8. International Processing
We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy and applicable law.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — for example, storing sign-in codes and access tokens in hashed form and restricting access to data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights, or request deletion of your account and associated data, by contacting us at support@botbard.ai. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at support@botbard.ai.
